Located at the entrance of Digne when coming from Nice, Villa Gaia is close to the Maison Alexandra David Neel.
This country residence in Haute-Provence, built in 1730 and restored in 1920 by a bourgeois family returning from Mexico, was first built on the site of an old tollgate. It has been carefully renovated to keep its old-world charm: an unusual place where history is alive and where exoticism meets tradition.
Staying at Villa Gaia means following in the footsteps of the adventurers of the late 19th century who stopped in Haute-Provence. The house library gives them a large place.
This family home became a charming hotel in 1993. We like to tell the story of the generations who lived here, how it became a refuge for travellers and a source of inspiration for artists. We also want to share our projects and let you take part in the restoration of this beautiful place.
We are committed to protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development.
